On August 10 (Beijing Time), "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Hockey Invitation will be suspended for one day. Chen Ping, deputy director of the venue media center, arrived here very early this morning and said with smile: we come here to serve you despite how many reporters are present.

2007 International Hockey Invitation kicked off on August 8, and Chen Ping said: since August 6 when the venue was officially opened to outside, the venue media center all along runs smoothly, and we have settled some troubles through negotiation and communication between departments.

Chen Ping also said: media center's smooth running is attributed to detailed plan made in advance, and such plan consists of three lists: personnel planning list, materials planning list and technology planning list; for instance, the personnel planning list details information of how many staff members the press conference hall need, who is the supervisor, and how many volunteers. Materials planning list is mainly related with supporting equipment like desks and chairs; while the technology planning list covers the installation and preparation of telephone, connector board and port. Such three lists help save time and arrange personnel, which lays strong foundation for the smooth running of venue media center.

To assure the reporters' normal work, the center also employed a series of other measures. For instance, the center closed the media area after the event has kicked off, and it stipulated that only persons holding certification and pass card could enter the venue. Moreover, the center made emergency plans to resolve the issue of equipment loss arising from reporter's acute disease and safety inspection.

Chen Ping said: there are still some problems during the media center's running process, for instance, persons without pass card have entered the media area, athletes walked beyond the mixed zone, and some coaches refused to be present in press conference, etc. In this case, departments of the venue should have further negotiation, cooperation and communication to avoid the occurrence of similar cases.
